Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our models, methodology, and platform.
General
EdgeTools is a quantitative finance platform based in Zurich, Switzerland. We develop investment models grounded in academic research, covering risk management, market analysis, portfolio construction, and more. Most of our models are available for free, with select professional models offered through a subscription.
Our tools are built for self-directed investors, portfolio managers, and analysts who value systematic, data-driven approaches. They are not intended for beginners looking for simple buy/sell signals, but for people who want to understand market conditions at a deeper level.
The majority of our models are free and publicly available on TradingView. We currently offer over 20 free indicators across six categories. Four professional TradingView indicators (ARAI, CCI, VTSI, ABBI) require a paid subscription.
Free models are available directly on TradingView under our EdgeTools profile. For the four professional indicators, you have two options: purchase them individually through our website (via LemonSqueezy, billed annually), or subscribe to all four as a bundle through TradingView Paid Spaces (billed monthly).
Models & Methodology
Every model is based on peer-reviewed academic research from fields including asset pricing, behavioral finance, monetary economics, and market microstructure. We translate established theories into practical tools, not the other way around. Sources include FRED, SSRN, NBER, and leading finance journals.
Free and professional TradingView indicators update in real time based on market data. The free portfolio tools (J.P. Morgan Efficiente 5, Mebane Faber GTAA 5, Ray Dalio All Weather) update daily after market close via automated scripts.
No. Our models are decision-support tools, not prediction machines. They help quantify market conditions, measure risk, and identify regimes. We explicitly acknowledge model limitations and do not promise specific returns.
Our models cover equities, fixed income, commodities, currencies, and multi-asset portfolios. The majority focus on US markets, but several models include global data.
Subscriptions & Access
There are two ways to subscribe to our four professional indicators (ARAI, CCI, VTSI, ABBI). You can purchase each indicator individually through our website, processed via LemonSqueezy on an annual billing cycle. Alternatively, you can subscribe to all four indicators as a bundle through TradingView Paid Spaces on a monthly billing cycle. The Paid Spaces option is relatively new and offers a convenient way to access the full set directly within TradingView.
Individual indicator subscriptions are purchased through our website via LemonSqueezy and are billed annually. This is suitable if you only need one or two specific indicators. The TradingView Paid Spaces bundle includes all four professional indicators and is billed monthly, which gives you more flexibility and access to the complete set at once.
Yes, you can cancel at any time. Your access remains active until the end of the current billing period. There are no cancellation fees. For LemonSqueezy subscriptions, you manage cancellation through your LemonSqueezy account. For TradingView Paid Spaces, cancellation is handled directly through TradingView.
For individual indicators purchased through LemonSqueezy, we offer a 7-day trial period. For the TradingView Paid Spaces bundle, unfortunately no trial is available. TradingView manages the Paid Spaces platform independently, and we have no control over their subscription terms. You can, however, evaluate our methodology through the 20+ free models available on TradingView. These use the same research-based design principles as the professional versions and give a good sense of our approach.
Technical
All our indicators run on TradingView. Free indicators work with any TradingView plan. Professional indicators and real-time data require TradingView Pro or higher.
We rely on market data from TradingView, FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data), Tiingo, EOD Historical Data, and Alpha Vantage. Macroeconomic data comes from the Federal Reserve, ECB, BIS, and CFTC.
